Portu Maga
This place was founded in the 90's as a tourist village and now represents, together with Torre dei Corsari, the only real opportunity for tourist receptivity all over the coast.
It is located at the foot of the hills overlooking the sea and your sight can enjoy the infinity of spectacular views and unique sunsets.
The sea
The shore is a beautiful 3 km long sand beach that reveals some slide rocks scattered in the sea.
The shallow waters are real wonderful and various with alternation of sands and rocks, showing their best colours in sunny weather. This is the ideal place for catching octopus and angling fish.
The coast is a paradise for children, always sure shallow water and wide variety of flora and fauna for their amusement. Here you can find the so called occhi di Santa Lucia, some very appreciated wonderful pearly shells.
Facilities
A pharmacy and a seasonable first aid station are at guess disposal.
The accommodations for tourists are here more than in the other part of Costa Verde: houses or villas for rent by the owners or by local agencies, a small tourist village (ex Valtur one), 2 restaurants and some shops like market, coffee shop, newspaper kiosk.
You can rent beach umbrellas, deck chairs, canoes, twin-hulled boat, rubber dinghies, moreover here is the only Diving Center of all Costa Verde.
Advices
Sea
The sea of the Costa Verde is typical of the western of Sardinia, it is spectacular and wild, seldom calm, so formidable and sometimes hostile. It is evident that on days when the sea is more agitated and necessary care and caution.
Shopping
Here you can find a market but you can get the best prices buying in the supermarkets and shopping centers in Arbus, Guspini or Terralba.
Water
The houses are well equipped with thousand litres tanks (actually there is a two time almost a week of stream water supply) that guarantee undrinkable water. It's suitable for cooking and washing only, so you must stock drinkable water free by sources in Marceddì, Terralba e Guspini or otherwise buying it.
Fuel supply
In the sea place of Portu Maga there are no refueling stations for fuel, the closest petrol stations are located in Arbus and Guspini.
Motorcaravan
There are no rest areas equipped and there are not present any camper service, but you can stop in the parking near the residence immediately after the restaurant Corsaro Nero. (Some photos of the rest)
